Programming at Big Sandy Camp is going strong in 2018! We had over 2000 kids come to camp this summer either with their churches or as individuals. We got to see awesome new activities at camp this year with a brand new waterslide, and for the older campers Knocker Ball. During our five weeks of programmed camp for about 800 campers, we had 81 campers come to know Christ for the first time. In addition we had 276 recommitments to Christ this summer. Praise the Lord! Big Sandy Camp wants to thank everyone who has made this possible. Our volunteers, student ministry team, summer staff, nurses, speakers, bands, and especially the parents, grandparents, pastors, and camp fans who sent or brought kids to Big Sandy this year! We also want to thank the leadership from Extreme Faith Camp, Camp Survive and Westwood Community Church for partnering with BSC this summer for their camps.

In addition to our busy camp season, we had a great turnout for our first ever summer community day. Big Sandy Camp is excited about reaching and loving the community here in McGregor, Minnesota. Pray for us that we will continue to find ways to support our community and love them the same way that Christ loves us.

We wrapped up an awesome Father Son retreat weekend this September and are looking forward to Marriage retreat from October 26th-28th. Kenny White will be our speaker for the Marriage Retreat and he’ll be drawing heavily from the Song of Solomon for his teaching. While we’re enjoying watching the leaves change this fall our staff always get pumped for January, because January means Avalanche Camp! Our theme is “DON’T HOLD BACK” and our theme verse is Hebrews 10:39:

But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

At Big Sandy Camp we want to challenge our young people to have a bold faith that proclaims Jesus with their words and life style.
