From the Kitchen
We have had a great start to 2019, Avalanche went very well and we have just finished up the C&MA Men’s retreat. We are now looking toward the summer, we have a lot to do before the summer gets here including several big cleaning projects and lots of planning meals and hiring our summer kitchen staff, not to mention the retreats in between.
We were able to get a pair of hotlines for our serving room this winter and they have been working very well, I am super excited to use them this summer as we serve all the kids. We are in a pretty good spot equipment wise as we go into the spring, our maintenance team has been great with making sure things are up and running.
I am very excited to get back into the summer groove around camp again and looking forward to our cookout meals this summer. We have been working to make them even better than last year. It will be sad to see the snow leave but I am ready to get to start doing more activities outside again like kayaking and fishing.
A verse from Matthew that I have had on my mind lately regarding Big Sandy and the work that goes into all the different areas of camp is Matthew 19:26; Jesus looked at them and said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. It reminds me that we cannot do this alone but that we in fact NEED God every step of the way and we cannot forget that.
